The Norwegian Meteorological Institute forecasts temperatures approaching 30°C across parts of southern and eastern Norway in the coming days, with some areas possibly exceeding that mark.

Speaking to Dagbladet, duty meteorologist Johanne Ordahl said temperatures would reach around 28°C on Wednesday, climbing toward 30°C by Thursday and into the weekend. The warmest conditions are expected in Øst-Agder, Telemark, Buskerud, and areas around the Oslofjord, with Drammen highlighted as a potential hotspot.

Ordahl noted the heatwave could persist for up to a week, with temperatures remaining between 25°C and 30°C. A slight cooldown may arrive the following weekend, though forecasts remain uncertain.

The warmth is linked to the extreme heat recently affecting parts of Europe, with some of that air mass moving northward. Ordahl added that such heatwaves have become more frequent due to climate change.

She advised the public to enjoy the weather but reminded them to use sun protection and consider vulnerable groups, including pets.
