A recent rescue involving a boat mistaken for a lifeboat has prompted Faroese boat owners to review their insurance policies, according to a report by Kringvarp Føroya.

The incident occurred when a boat, which the owner had forgotten to register, was confused with a rescue vessel. Such cases highlight the need for owners to verify their insurance coverage, said Georg L. Petersen of Gimmibátatænastuni, which also sells insurance policies.

The report advises boat owners to ensure their policies meet legal requirements.
