Family of boy killed in accident receives message from his idol
The family of Dennis Skjørestad, a six-year-old boy who died after being struck by a vehicle in Time municipality, Rogaland, on 24 June, has received a signed national team jersey and a handwritten note from Erling Braut Haaland, reports Dagbladet.
In an Instagram post, the father wrote that the gesture from Haaland and his family gave them “goosebumps we had never felt before.” He added that Dennis, a football fan, would have been proud.
The Haaland family’s note expressed their deepest sympathy, stating: “It is impossible for us as parents and siblings to fully understand your situation. But know that we, like many others, share your grief in this difficult time. We understood that Dennis loved football. So here is a small token from us.”
Dennis was hit in a residential area in Kvernaland and later pronounced dead at Stavanger University Hospital. The family has thanked friends, relatives, and staff at his kindergarten and their workplaces for their support.
