The Faroe Islands will soon announce their decision on the 2026 kingfish fishing quota in international waters of the North Atlantic, following a consultation period that ended on 5 July, KVF reports.

The Faroes will not receive a separate quota. The joint quota for NEAFC member countries is 4,082 tonnes. Fishing will halt once catches reach this limit, according to NEAFC forecasts. Norway and Russia are not included in this agreement.

Kingfish may be caught until 1 December. Last yearโ€™s quota for the same area was 3,964 tonnes.
