A severe thunderstorm with hail the size of large peas struck parts of Østre Toten municipality on Saturday evening, leaving gardens blanketed in white, Dagbladet reports.
Nina Dyste of Kolbu described the storm as intense, with over an hour of thunder, lightning, and heavy hail that covered her lawn in a white layer and damaged many of her flowers.
“It was completely white on the lawn, and a lot of the flowers were ruined,” Dyste said. Some plants were left with large holes in their leaves.
Though the storm caused damage, Dyste said she was fortunate to have supportive neighbors to turn to. “I’m afraid of lightning and thunder, but luckily I have good neighbors I could run to,” she added.
Multiple locations in the municipality reported heavy downpours, thunder, and hail during the evening.
