Police shoot man in Mo i Rana
A man was shot in the leg by police in Mo i Rana, Nordland, after failing to respond to warnings and advancing on officers with a raised hand, according to Dagbladet.
Police received a report at 19:15 of an unstable man, possibly armed with a knife, at a local venue. Upon arrival, the man had moved into the street. Officers attempted to gain control of the situation, but the man did not respond and approached them. A warning shot was fired, but he continued advancing. Police then fired a shot that struck him in the leg, operations leader Morten Aleksander Sørensen stated in the police log.
Officers administered first aid until an ambulance arrived. The man’s injuries are not life-threatening. Police have opened an investigation and notified the Special Unit as a routine measure.
