A class of graduating students from Rosborg Gymnasium in Vejle made an unscheduled stop at Hovergården care center, where residents like Gunva Johansen welcomed them with snacks and flags, reports DR.
Johansen said the visit was “life-giving,” adding that seeing the young students helped the residents recall their own youth. The idea began in May when the care center posted on Facebook, asking if any graduating classes would adopt a care home as part of their traditional celebratory tour.
Four classes ultimately took part, bringing music, dancing, and student caps to the residents. Center manager Mette Thomsen said the home had heard the student parades last summer and wanted to join in this year.
Student Tina Abedin called the visit a highlight of the day, while classmate Karoline Kargo said it was wonderful to see the residents waving flags and joining in the celebrations.
