Faroese health authority to issue vaccination reminder in August

The Faroese Health Authority will introduce a reminder system for childhood vaccinations next month, according to director Noomi O. Gregersen.

The initiative follows a new report on vaccination practices, the first of its kind by the authority, which took over the task from the Chief Medical Officer. The report, based on a survey of 5,300 parents conducted last spring, indicates that more children are receiving vaccinations later than recommended.

Gregersen clarified that there are no plans to use coercive measures against parents who do not follow vaccination guidelines.
