A TikTok video of Kristin Kessler (35) parodying Erling Braut Haaland’s distinctive running style through Oslo’s streets has been viewed over 70,000 times, Dagbladet reports.
Kessler, who calls the act “haalanding,” mimicked the footballer’s forward-leaning posture, exaggerated arm movements, and intense focus—even while wearing high heels secured with elastic to prevent them from slipping at “Haaland speed.” She also styled her hair in a ponytail to match Haaland’s signature look.
“He has such a specific way of running, leaning forward with lots of arm movement. I thought it would be funny to try,” Kessler told the newspaper. She initially expected only her mother to find the video amusing but woke to 21,000 views after posting it following Norway’s World Cup win over Ivory Coast.
Some onlookers recognized the impression, with one shouting, “Let’s go, Haaland!” Firefighters in one of her clips also appeared to enjoy the performance. Kessler, a DJ, extended an invitation to Haaland and the national team for a “boiler room” session, referencing the footballer’s reported appreciation for electronic music.
With Norway set to face Brazil in the Round of 16 on Sunday, Kessler promised more “haalanding” in the streets. “100 percent. It’ll be haalanding everywhere,” she said.
