Faroese fish processing group Vónin reports 28 million krona loss in 2025

Faroese marine processing group Vónin posted a net loss of 27.7 million krona in 2025, down from a 45 million krona profit in 2024, the group announced Thursday.
Revenue fell to 644 million krona last year from 661 million krona in 2024, with global quota restrictions and instability cited as key factors. The company, which operates in seven countries, employs 437 people, including 99 in the Faroe Islands, and processes by-products from fishing and aquaculture.
Over the past four years, Vónin has recycled more than 3,500 tonnes of by-products, reducing carbon emissions by 12,840 tonnes.
