Ólavsøka choir introduces participation fee

The Faroese Choral Association will charge singers 100 krona to participate in this year’s Ólavsøka choir, the association’s president Leif Hansen told KVF.

Hansen said the long-standing tradition of free participation has forced the association to find new ways to fund the event as the choir has grown in recent years.

Rehearsals, led by conductor Ásbjørn Berthelsen, are scheduled for July 15, 19, 23, and 26.
