A 165 million kroner donation from Realdania will transform the former Kopenhagen Fur headquarters in Glostrup into a state-of-the-art vocational campus, reports DR.

The 94,000 square metre 1960s complex, vacant since the fur company’s closure in 2024, has been acquired by Next education institution. It will house over 20 vocational programmes for 1,500 students starting this autumn.

The funds will finance an experimental workshop and cross-disciplinary spaces, according to Next director Ole Heinager. “Students learn far better in an inspiring environment with quality materials. Here they’ll get more than they expect, and a place to return for further training,” he said.

Realdania CEO Nina Kovsted Helk emphasised the role of skilled trades in green transition: “We cannot meet climate goals without carpenters, electricians, bricklayers and others who turn ambitions into reality.”

The campus will also host industry collaboration spaces, allowing companies to engage with students on future construction solutions. First students are expected to move in during autumn 2026.
