A sharp weather shift will bring rain and lower temperatures to much of southern Norway on Thursday, ending a stretch of warm, sunny days with highs near 30°C, according to national broadcaster Dagbladet.

“Now it’s over,” said Charalampos Sarchosidis, duty meteorologist at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. A low-pressure system moving in will deliver widespread rain, particularly across Østlandet, with temperatures dropping to 15–18°C in Oslo.

Thursday will see the most persistent rain, with conditions resembling autumn, Sarchosidis noted. The change also brings relief from dry conditions that had raised wildfire risks.

While eastern and southern regions will see gradual improvement from Friday, with sunshine returning and highs climbing back toward 20–24°C, western Norway—including Bergen—faces continued rain and cooler temperatures around 14–15°C through the weekend.

Sunday evening, however, is expected to be clear and mild in the east, with temperatures of 13–17°C, offering good conditions for outdoor viewing of Norway’s World Cup match against Brazil.
