Last week, the Health Authority received 70 reports of COVID-19 cases, according to a recent press release.
The Health Authority urged individuals to report positive results from at-home tests. This call to action was prompted by the fact that the infection numbers from the Research Institute at the National Hospital showed no COVID-19 cases, while many reported feeling ill with COVID-19 symptoms. Consequently, the Health Authority sought to gain a clearer understanding of the situation.
In the press release issued in the afternoon, the Health Authority noted that the new figures should be interpreted with caution.
“The number of reports does not reflect the actual infection status in the Faroe Islands at this moment, but it does indicate a certain level of infection pressure,” the Health Authority stated, reiterating its request for people to inform the authority if they test positive for COVID-19 at home.
