Caseworker stabbed by resident at Hammel care facility

A 39-year-old caseworker was stabbed by a 59-year-old resident at a care facility for mentally vulnerable people in Hammel, Favrskov Municipality confirmed in a statement.

The woman is in critical condition following the attack, which police were alerted to at 11:00 AM. Authorities have arrested the suspect and cordoned off the scene on Jagtvej as part of the investigation.

Favrskov Mayor Lars Storgaard said the municipality is supporting the victim’s colleagues and other residents at the facility. “We are all deeply affected by the assault, and our thoughts are with the employee and her family,” he said.

Police have notified the victim’s next of kin and urged any witnesses to contact the Victim Support Line at 116 006 if they need assistance.
