Tóra Petersen named head of Sernámi

Tóra Petersen will take over as department head of Sernámi on 1 August, the Faroese Broadcasting Corporation (KVF) reports.

Sernámi, previously an independent institution, has been integrated as a department under the Ministry of Education since 1 June. The new role involves leading efforts to expand access to Faroese-language services and strengthen ties with the national education and counselling agency Námi.

Petersen is a trained psychologist with a PhD in psychology and has extensive experience in both private practice and public institutions. She has served as acting director of Sernámi for the past year and previously worked as an educational advisor at Námi for five years.

Six candidates applied for the position.
