The Faroese government has decided to dissolve the construction planning department at Landsverk, the national public works agency, following a loss of confidence in its ability to manage building projects.

Employment Minister Jacob Vestergaard announced the move, stating that the department’s 18 staff will be transferred and future construction planning shifted to the central government. Landsverk director Marjun Weihe Thomassen confirmed the decision in a brief statement, calling it a political choice that the agency would respect.

Landsverk declined to comment further on Tuesday.
