Russia will temporarily close several border crossings with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia starting Wednesday, according to Russian state news agencies Tass and Ria Novosti.

The order restricts the movement of people, vehicles, goods, and cargo. The affected crossings on the Finnish border include Värtsilä, Lutta, and Enso.

Russian authorities are expected to notify Finnish, Estonian, and Latvian officials of the decision. Finland’s border crossings with Russia have been closed since December 2023, with only rail transport permitted via the Vainikkala checkpoint.
