The UKK Institute in Tampere will file a complaint with the administrative court over a funding decision by Social Affairs and Health Minister Wille Rydman (Finns Party), according to a report by Helsingin Sanomat cited by Yle.

Rydman decided to allocate 10% less funding to the institute this year than approved in the state budget. The institute had originally been allocated €918,000 in the budget, but in April the ministry announced it would receive €826,200.

Institute director Tommi Vasankari told Helsingin Sanomat the reduction came as a complete surprise, especially as a third of the year had already passed before the institute was informed. The complaint is being prepared and will be submitted next week.

Rydman responded to Helsingin Sanomat in writing, stating that the law is clear: the amount specified in the budget is the maximum.
