Two killed in overnight hit-and-run on Itäväylä

A man in his 40s has been detained after two people in their 30s died in a hit-and-run on Helsinki’s Itäväylä early Tuesday, police report.

Emergency services were alerted to the scene near Kulosaari at 12:30 a.m. Police closed the eastbound lanes for the investigation but have not yet disclosed further details or assigned a lead investigator.
