Rare cinereous vulture spotted in Denmark for first time
A cinereous vulture, Europe’s largest bird of prey with a wingspan of nearly three metres, has been observed in Denmark for the first time as a wild bird, DR reports.
The sighting was made on Thursday by Karin Grønbæk and Henrik Friis in Sandfær Plantage near Holstebro. The species, which typically inhabits southern Europe, had not previously been recorded in Denmark outside of captivity.
