Jyllands Park Zoo has activated sprinklers and added extra shade to help animals with thick fur cope with the high temperatures, according to a report by DR.

Dyrepasser Rikke Trampedach said staff are closely monitoring animals such as reindeer, large-furred species, and even primates, as the heat persists. The zoo has also set up sprinklers for visitors.

“When the animals have their own choice, it’s up to them whether they want to be inside where it’s cool or outside with the guests,” Trampedach said.

Some animals, like the penguins, are unfazed by the warmth, she noted. The zoo remains open, with additional measures in place to ensure a comfortable visit.
