A €3 tariff on online purchases from outside the EU valued at up to €150 will take effect in July, Yle reports, citing Finnish Customs.
The measure aims to curb imports of non-compliant goods from Chinese e-commerce platforms such as Temu.
Finnish Customs told state news agency STT that the reform does not change the main aspects of customs declarations or the effectiveness of oversight. Sellers will be responsible for paying the tariff, though its impact on consumer prices remains unclear. The fee may not be itemised and could instead be absorbed into overall pricing.
