Student gives birth 65 hours before first exam and completes all six
A Danish student gave birth 65 hours before her first exam and went on to complete all six scheduled tests, Danish broadcaster DR reports.
Maria Svensk Lynge, a financial economics student at UCN in Aalborg, said the experience had been “a bit turbulent.” She delivered her son just over two days before the first of six exams spread across a month.
Despite the challenge, she sat every test. Her husband waited outside the exam room with their newborn, allowing her to breastfeed before and after each session.
“It took blood, sweat and tears,” she said. “But I’m just happy I managed it.”
Lynge, who already has a three-year-old daughter, said she would have postponed the exams if conditions had been more difficult. Her advice to others in a similar position: “Take it easy and listen to your gut. You can always retake exams.”
She added: “The most important thing is to take care of yourself when you’ve just had a baby. But believe in yourself. It’ll all work out.”
Lynge now faces summer break and parental leave from her studies.
