Finland to see warmer weather but extreme heat unlikely
Warmer, humid air will flow into Finland from the south for the rest of the week, according to national broadcaster Yle.
The same air mass has caused extreme heat in Western Europe, but it will be significantly cooler by the time it reaches Finland, keeping temperatures at more comfortable levels than elsewhere in Europe.
Southwestern Finland may see heatwave conditions over the weekend, with temperatures possibly exceeding 25°C. Elsewhere, temperatures will rise moderately, and even in southern Lapland, readings could reach around 20°C by Sunday.
Unsettled weather will persist, with light showers expected in various parts of the country each day. Thunderstorms may develop on Sunday, though forecasts remain uncertain. A more cohesive rain front will move across southern and southwestern Finland between Friday night and Saturday.
Despite the scattered showers, sunshine will still break through at times.
