Finland’s Border Guard to develop drone countermeasure system
Finland’s Border Guard is launching a national drone countermeasure system in collaboration with industry partners, the public broadcaster Yle reports.
Contracts for the project were signed Thursday in Helsinki by the Border Guard, Marine Alutech, Saab, Nokia, and 61N Solutions as part of a Finnish-Nordic industrial consortium.
The system aims to equip patrol vehicles and vessels with counter-drone capabilities for border security, territorial integrity monitoring, and protection of critical infrastructure.
Evaluation of the systems is scheduled for 2027–2028.
