Academic Union and the Finance Ministry will hold their last negotiation meeting before the summer break later today, chair Arni Petersen confirmed.

The union has submitted a demand for a two-year agreement to run through 2028. Earlier this month, the parties signed a deal covering 1 October 2025 to 1 October 2026, with a 3.87 percent wage increase.

The Academic Union is part of the public-sector wage cartel that 12 unions formed last year with the Finance Ministry’s wage division.
