The ongoing heatwave in southern Europe will not extend to the Faroe Islands, according to the Faroese Meteorological Office.
Meteorologist Andrias Gregoriussen told public broadcaster KVF that while the heatwave, originating from the Sahara, is expected to persist over Europe for the rest of the week, it will not reach as far north as the Faroes.
Gregoriussen noted that such weather patterns are natural, but added that record temperatures are a sign of climate change.
