Major fire engulfs building in Tampere’s Atala district

Firefighters are battling a large blaze in Tampere’s Atala district after a fire broke out on Pulkkakatu street on Tuesday evening, Yle reports.

The emergency call came in just before 7:30 p.m. as a medium-sized building fire, but was upgraded to a major fire shortly before 8 p.m. The roof structure is fully ablaze, and 20 units from the Pirkanmaa rescue services have been dispatched to the scene.
