Sweden’s ruling Tidö parties face a widening poll deficit ahead of the 2026 election, with the opposition leading by 9.4 points in the latest SVT/Verian survey and 12.6 points in SCB’s annual measurement.
With just over two months until the vote, SVT asked four right-wing figures why the government coalition is trailing and what it can do to recover. Per Schlingmann, a former Moderate Party strategist, said Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson needs to “stop tripping over his own feet.”
