Icelandic president visits Runavík and Klaksvík

Iceland’s president and her delegation continue their Faroese visit today with stops in Runavík and Klaksvík, reports Faroese broadcaster KVF.
The group will first visit the SEV headquarters in Húsahagi at 09:45, followed by a tour of the Eysturoy tunnel at 10:00. Later, they will visit the swimming hall in Runavík and the Bakkafrost facility in Glyvrar.
At midday, Runavík municipality will host a lunch meeting at Garðahúsið in Søldarfjørður.
In the afternoon, the delegation moves to Klaksvík. At 15:00, they will attend an Icelandic-Faroese work initiative at Varpin, followed by a visit to artist Edward Fuglø. The itinerary also includes stops at the rowing stadium and Rótin (the home economics school). In the evening, Klaksvík municipality will host a dinner at Rótin.
President Halla Tómasdóttir and her husband, Björn Skúlason, arrived in the Faroe Islands late yesterday. After landing, they met with Prime Minister Beinir Johannesen at Tinganes, then proceeded to the Løgting to meet the presiding committee. Last night, the prime minister hosted a dinner at Hotel Føroyar.
