Residents and the Faroese Equestrian Association have objected to a proposed equestrian track near Rossagøta um Fjallið in Tórshavn, citing safety concerns, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The group has gathered signatures and urged the municipality to choose an alternative site, arguing that current safety measures are inadequate. Tórshavn municipality, however, remains committed to the original plan. Mayor Heini Johannesen stated that the municipality has considered the feedback and made necessary adjustments.

The new track is part of preparations for the 2027 Island Games, to be held in the Faroe Islands.
