Icelandic president arrives in Faroe Islands

Iceland’s president, Halla Tómasdóttir, arrived in the Faroe Islands on Monday, landing at Vágar Airport from Keflavík aboard an Atlantic Airways flight, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

Prime Minister Beinir Johannesen and his wife, Helena Johannesen, greeted the president and her husband, Björn Skúlason, upon arrival. The delegation is now en route to Tórshavn, where Tómasdóttir will meet with Johannesen at Tinganes. After the meeting, they will visit the Løgting (Faroese Parliament).

In the evening, the prime minister will host a dinner at Hotel Føroyar. On Tuesday, the itinerary includes a visit to Eysturoy, where the president will tour the Eysturoyartunnilin tunnel, the MEST plant in Skáli, the swimming hall in Runavík, and Bakkafrost.
