The Finnish Defence Forces will permit male personnel to wear long hair starting 1 July, according to a report by Yle.
Under the updated guidelines, all service members will follow the existing rules previously applied to women, which allow long hair as long as it is not worn loose.
The change is part of a broader revision of the general service regulations, which also clarifies procedures for addressing inappropriate conduct, including refined definitions of harassment and bullying, as well as updated cohabitation guidelines.
