The Eastern High Court has reduced a three-month suspended prison sentence to a three-month suspended sentence with probation, following an appeal from a man convicted in the Faroe Islands last August, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
The man was initially sentenced for hardship and threats against police after being detained on 24 July 2025. He had spent 14 days in pre-trial custody and pleaded guilty.
The court cited his improved personal circumstances and good conduct as reasons for the reduction, stating that imprisonment was no longer deemed appropriate.
The original charges stemmed from an incident involving the man taking another person’s skin, reportedly while under the influence of alcohol.
