Twitch streamer Jacob “Jaxstyle” Krull staged an eight-hour live stream from a mobile blood donation unit on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen on Sunday to encourage more young people—particularly young men—to donate blood, reports DR.

Denmark’s blood supply requires 30,000 new donors, with the 18–34 age group currently the least represented, despite a recent survey by Bloddonorerne Danmark showing strong interest in donating among that demographic. One in five in that age range said they were likely or very likely to donate within the next two years.

Krull, one of Denmark’s most followed Twitch streamers, broadcast his own first blood donation during the event, which also featured visits from other influencers. By the end of the stream, 252 new donors had signed up—a figure Bloddonorerne Danmark called a success, noting that a typical Sunday sees only around 30 new registrations.

Betina Samuelsen Sørensen, chief physician at Aalborg University Hospital and a board member of Bloddonorerne Danmark, emphasized the importance of young donors, who are generally healthy and can contribute for decades.
