Driver dies after car leaves road and severs trees in Kuusamo

A man in his 50s died in a traffic accident on Kuusamotie road in Kiiminki early Sunday morning, reports Yle.

Emergency services were alerted at 06:52 after a serious collision. Police, paramedics, and rescue units responded to the scene, about 10 kilometres from Kiiminki towards Pudasjärvi.

The car, travelling from Pudasjärvi towards Kiiminki, veered off the road to the right, severing several trees at the forest edge. The driver, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
