Search continues for man who disappeared under water in Tahkolahti

A young adult man disappeared under water near Tahkolahti beach in Nilsiä, Kuopio, on Midsummer Day, according to Yle.

Emergency services received a report at 15:59 that a man had gone under near the swimming area. A police patrol on site did not see the man submerge but was shown the location by witnesses.

Police and rescue divers searched for hours using boats, a jet ski, sonar, and a drone. The underwater search was called off at 19:40 without results. Authorities stated they would resume efforts later.
