Fire extinguished after blaze breaks out in industrial area of Mosfellsbær, Iceland

A fire that broke out in an industrial area of Mosfellsbær has been extinguished. All available fire stations were dispatched about an hour ago when the blaze, which originated in a caravan, spread to nearby structures causing significant damage. Firefighters quickly contained the situation.

According to a fire chief, upon arrival, it was evident that the fire had also reached one of the nearby buildings due to their close proximity. The owner of the affected property had recently vacated the premises, leaving it unoccupied at the time of the fire, which allowed for more extensive damage. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Firefighters utilized breathing apparatuses to tackle the flames inside the structure. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, and the rapid response has been credited with preventing further disaster. Cleanup efforts are currently underway at the site.

Nearby properties also sustained damage due to the fire. Local authorities will continue to investigate the incident as they assess the full extent of the impact on the area.
