The open Jutland championships of OMBOLD street football took place this week on Silkeborg’s central square, drawing players from across Denmark who do not fit into traditional club sports, including people with diagnoses, histories of substance abuse, or experiences of homelessness.

Among the participants is Mikkel Barsø Skov, selected to represent Denmark at the Homeless World Cup in Mexico next January. He first joined OMBOLD while living in a care home and experiencing homelessness, according to a report by Danish broadcaster DR.
