Finland has released a postage stamp commemorating its recent ice hockey world championship victory, with sales beginning today in Posti’s online store.

The stamp captures the decisive moment of the final against Switzerland, where Konsta Helenius celebrates the 1–0 winning goal with teammates. Jere Lehtinen, general manager of the national team, called the stamp a major honor for the squad.

Posti fast-tracked the project, completing months of work in just weeks. Design Manager Tommi Kantola said the stamp reflects the era and the nation’s emotions, justifying the exceptional speed. Normally, stamp production takes months or years, with release dates set well in advance.

Stamps marking world titles are rare; the last was issued in 2011 for Mikael Granlund’s championship. Posti is also donating €10,000 to Finkey Foundation, supporting youth hockey for low-income families. The domestic stamp costs €3.
