A study by Finland’s Accident Data Institute found that 37 percent of all fatal traffic accidents in the country over the past decade involved a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reports Yle.
Intoxicated drivers also caused 15 fatal accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, or users of light electric vehicles.
Half of the impaired drivers were under the influence of alcohol alone, while about a quarter had mixed alcohol with other substances.
