The child psychiatry unit of Oulu University Hospital (OYS) and the city of Oulu’s hospital school will move into new premises, Yle reports.

The North Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county, Pohde, has commissioned a new 3,000-square-metre building on the hospital campus. The L-building will replace the old children’s clinic and connect with the protected and renovated L4 section of the existing hospital.

Construction is already underway on the approximately €10 million project, with completion scheduled for autumn 2027. NCC Suomi Oy is the contractor.

The L-building is part of OYS’s new hospital complex. Earlier additions to the Kontinkangas campus include the A, B, E, and F buildings. The C-building, housing outpatient clinics and education facilities, is currently under construction, while the H-building—a new logistics and support services centre—is in the planning stage.
