Hvannasund municipality introduces service fee for vacant properties

Hvannasund municipality will begin charging an annual service fee for vacant properties starting 1 January 2027, the Faroese public broadcaster KVF reports.
The fee is set at 7,945 krona per year, the maximum allowed for municipalities. Other Faroese municipalities already imposing such fees include Tórshavn, Tvøroyri, Sund, Nes, Vágar, Skopun, Hvalba, Eiði, Kvívík and Fámjin.
