Large oil spill contained in Ikaalinen

An estimated 10 cubic metres of heat transfer oil leaked into a maintenance pit at a factory building in Ikaalinen, reports Yle.

Pirkanmaa Rescue Department responded to the incident on Puntunlahdenkatu at 3:31 AM on Tuesday. Authorities confirmed the situation is under control and no further leakage is occurring.

Rescue personnel have left the scene. Cleanup of the spilled oil is being handled by the company operating at the site, which has removed the oil using vacuum trucks.

No additional hazards or injuries were reported.
