Fuglafjørður municipality posts 25.5 million krona surplus

Fuglafjørður municipality closed 2025 with a 25.5 million krona surplus, according to its approved annual accounts reported by Faroese broadcaster KVF.

The municipality recorded 39.6 million krona in revenue, with operating expenses at 96 million krona—3.6 million krona above the budget. After accounting for interest expenses, the net result was a 13.9 million krona deficit.

The budgeted interest deficit for the year was 23.8 million krona. The 2024 surplus was 4 million krona.

At the end of 2025, municipal debt stood at 60 percent of taxable income, up from 52 percent the previous year.
