US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the Hormuz Strait will reopen on Friday following the signing of an agreement between the United States and Iran. The news sent oil prices tumbling.

Sweden opened its World Cup campaign with a commanding 5–1 victory over Tunisia, with forwards Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres leading the charge. “This is extremely important for Sweden,” said analyst Glenn Strömberg.

Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard welcomed the US-Iran agreement, stating in a text message to SVT: “The exact details remain to be seen, but this could represent an important step toward a long-term sustainable solution. It is now of the utmost importance that free and safe passage through the Hormuz Strait is restored swiftly.”
