Man stabbed near Sörnäinen metro station in Helsinki

A person was stabbed in the Kurvi district of Helsinki near Sörnäinen metro station on Sunday afternoon, Yle reports.

The emergency services notified police of the stabbing at 15:10. The victim, who was stabbed in the mid-torso area, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police quickly detained a man in his 40s near the scene. He is suspected of attempted murder. Authorities are investigating the background of the incident.
