A power outage struck Tusenfryd amusement park near Oslo on Saturday, prompting a full evacuation of visitors, Dagbladet reports.
According to Elvia’s outage map, 686 households in Ås municipality are affected. The cause remains unknown.
Marketing director Erik Røhne Andersen confirmed the outage began shortly after 14:30, caused by a high-voltage line failure. Without power to rides, shops, and other facilities, the park initiated standard evacuation procedures.
“This means rides are cleared of guests,” Andersen said, noting that safety protocols were followed. He added that the park has no control over the situation but hopes power will be restored soon.
Visitors were offered free ice cream as compensation during the disruption.
