Jacob Wallenberg, chair of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, has urged political leaders to reach a cross-bloc energy agreement to secure business investment in new nuclear power, he told Swedish Radio’s Ekot on Saturday.

“The direction is very positive, but in reality we do not have a broad agreement today. I hope we will get one,” Wallenberg said.

He stressed the need for a “handshake” between leaders on both sides of Swedish politics to ensure stability, adding that investors face significant risk without clear, long-term conditions.

“The more secure the framework, the lower the risk and the greater the chance of investment. That is what we are after,” Wallenberg said.
